There is a new community for fans of Aaron Sorkins Work. It is called sorkinverse .

For those of familiar to whedonland , jjverse , crimeland , etc, it is much like those communities.

For those of you not familiar with the communities listed above, basically what happens is all the members are divided into three teams. Each of these teams represent a TV show of Sorkin's. You compete in different challenges (some art based, fic based, trivia based, luck based, etc.) for points which will be awarded to your team. At the end of each cycle a team will be crowned the overall winner for that cycle.

This is a great way to find new friends with mutual interest and it has the benefit of being really fun.

Which team will win? Come and play and try to make it yours!

Hear ye! Hear ye! Calling all writers! I'm posting here as a co-moderator of the newly created rerun_bigbang to get the word out about this writing challenge, tailored to writers who belong to "dead" fandoms--fandoms that belong to televisions shows that have gone off the air.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Big Bang challenges, allow me to explain in a nutshell. In general, Big Bang challenges are those in which writers sign up to write a story that pertains to a particular fandom and is over 20,000 words (though, certain fandoms have other minimum word count requirements).

The rerun_bigbang challenge is a multi-fandom challenge and will enable writers to sign up to write a story within one of ten fandoms (fandoms will be decided by poll) that belong to television shows that are no longer producing new episodes. It's never too late to write for a show, even if it's been off the air for years, right? It's never too late to reignite your love--or express the love that just refuses to fade--for a show or its fandom. There are new viewers and readers discovering "old" fandoms every day and veterans who still find themselves coming back. So here's a chance to dive into your tried and true favorites!

We will have a FAQ, Rules, and Timeline section up soon. For now, we are only asking for fandom submissions. That is, since there are many shows that have gone off the air and since we feel that, in order to moderate well, a limit must be drawn, we need your help--potential writers, readers, cheerleaders, etc.--to decide which fandoms will be included amongst the challenge's ten.

So which fandoms would like to write for? Which ones would you like to see included in the challenge? Hit us with your suggestions! No fandom is too small or too extinct. The suggestion post is set to close on March 21st. After that, a poll will be posted and fandoms will be decided!

Make your suggestion here! And, of course, spread the word to those in other fandoms if you can! The more the merrier!

Subject: Sorkin doing a script rewrite for Brad Pitt's baseball movie

Moneyball is a baseball movie, starring Brad Pitt and written and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Except it isnt, because Sony decided to pull funding at the last minute, after Soderbergh turned in a script they didnt like.

Well, Sony is now back on board, with Soderbergh out as director, and our man Aaron Sorkin has been handed the script for a touch-up/rewrite.

And, to celebrate, a pretend scene that blogger Ken Levine wrote back in 2006:

Aaron has joined Facebook to prep for his new movie about the founders. This could prove to be interesting on a number of levels.

Subject: More on the 10th anniversary DVD rumor
Security: Public
TVShowsonDVD.com has further information that there will be a Sports Night: The Complete Series — 10th Anniversary Edition released September 30, 2008 at the MSRP of $69.99. It will be an 8 disc affair with some extras like commentary tracks from Sorkin and Schlamme. More information here.

This is starting to sound less like a rumor and more like a reality. *crosses fingers*

pretty cool rumor over here.

I've only seen a couple of episodes of Sports Night, but I've been desperate to complete my Sorkin collection, so this would be great.

I was just watching the Democratic Presidential debate on CNN, and there was a cutaway shot to Bradley Whitford clapping. Unfortunately, he was clapping for Hilary (although I have to admit what she said was true). I squeed a girlish squee and rewound my TiVo when I saw him. Does anyone know if he's supporting a particular candidate?
